We are a family-owned bar and restaurant deeply rooted in San Diego's popular Gaslamp Quarter/East Village community. The word "meze" translates as "taste" - meaning both "flavor" and "a taste of something." At Meze Greek Fusion, you'll find both. Our menu features finely crafted Greek cuisine with a Southern California twist. You can enjoy entrees in our chic high-ceilinged dining room, or in small portions as "meze" that go exceptionally well on our patio with a drink. Meze is the perfect gathering spot for special event celebrations, relaxing dinners with family and friends, a peaceful lunch, or a handcrafted cocktail and a quick bite to eat before heading to a Padres game, or a night out in the Gaslamp. On the weekends, you can enjoy our delicious brunch with Bottomless Mimosas out on the patio. We are also known for our unique Greek wine and spirits selection, which is the perfect compliment to our flaming dishes, lively weekend belly dancing shows, and our extensive hookah options. We welcome you to join us for an unmatched dining experience that will exceed your wildest expectations. Opa!

This is a great place that we visit often. It is lively and the staff makes you feel like part of the family. Food and service is excellent. Get the flaming cheese as an appetizer. You can't go wrong here.

Greek inspired dishes in an okay ambient. Wine seriously overpriced for the quality. The staff is nice and not too intrusive. The place can get busy in the evening, but offers a good opportunity for a quick lunch.

The food was okay. I would say it lacked flavor for the most part. The hostess recommended we get the mixed appetizer plate which was not so great. The spanakopitas had no flavor... the falafel was a bit dry. The main meal moussaka was pretty good. The ambiance of the restaurant was great.

Great place, we tried a lot of dishes, we had the solomos ( salmon filled with feta and spinach), the lamb shops, the gyro and the falafel plate. Everything tasted amazing. The staff was very attentive.

I have given this place a 2 star. Not because the food but because of the charge discrepancies discovered at the end of the meal. The menu displayed one price and the receipt displayed $2 more for each item ordered. It’s not a lot but If there are 20 people in your group, $2 per item ordered adds up to a lot. It this happens to every person, that means someone is not being honest. The food was ok, Not great and the portions are small. The staff was nice but the food quality was definitely not worthy of returning.

The atmosphere is inviting, one of my favorite downtown restaurants and the food is always satisfying and tasty. The service is always quality as well. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Delicious food. Octopus was outstanding. Lemony potatoes a bit too tart. Baklava cheesecake decadent.

Its seems that every Greek person thinks they can open up a restaurant and just because they are Greek, people will love their food. Not always the case. Meze is the expectation. This family truly understands good quality Greek food. Some of the best Pita I have ever had, wonderful Hummus and Tadzikh. Octopus was spot on as was the service.

So many delicious menu options! I ended up getting the asparagus salad (entree portion) with falafel added (see photo). The salad was huge and I probably only needed the regular size with the falafel. If you’re not adding a protein then get the entree size. Also, we split the tomato basil hummus and I’ll never be able to eat grocery store hummus again. It was AMAZING. Perfect sharing size for 2 or a midday snack for 1. Also, great ambience inside or you can eat outside. Love this restaurant!

Very delicious food, great service from server eriberto, you will not regret this place

Great food. Hosted some clients here for lunch and it was really good. I normally dislike the whole “fusion†concept, but this is essentially just a Greek place in a trendy downtown San Diego space. My Australian clients are from a heavily populated Greek area and they all loved it.

Very good! Excellent service...

This was my first time ever going to a Greek restaurant and I loved it! I shared three small plates (that I cannot remember the names of) with my friend—meatballs, something covered in grape leaves and a puff pastry with feta sprinkled on top. Sharing a few small plates is a good idea if you’re not that hungry, but if you’re starving, get yourself a full plate :)

We were attracted to try the restaurant because of the decors and ambience. The service was good but the food was definitely not authentic Greek food. We felt disappointed about the food especially the hummus - you can get better hummus from a mart. Pita bread was dry and hard. The main dish, ground beef and lamb kebab was okay, a bit bland. It’s kinda a waste of the great atmosphere when the food wasn’t really up to the standard. Definitely need to work on the food.

Wanted to visit this place last time I was in town and so glad I could visit this time. The salads were a fav during lunch including the Mediterranean and Greek salad with chicken. The lunch portions were completely suitable for one person. The place is pretty cool and they had a yummy assortment of hot tea. And a really big door 😆 will return.

I have to say that the food and service for the majority of our dinner was very good. The reason I feel the need to give them only 3 stars is the host for the restaurant seating us was extremely rude and unreasonable. He wanted to seat us on a high table and blamed us for not specifying we wanted a regular table.

Definitely, they serve one of the best menus in the city! We had dinner here last night, and we had so much fun. The chefs are top-notch, and the food is clearly of high quality. It's not a cheap restaurant, but it is worth its price. The ambiance is very elegant and serene. Their servers were very friendly and accommodating, too. Highly recommended!

Everything we had was so good! We had the flaming shrimp, beet salad, and baklava cheesecake- all great. And the flames just add some drama and fun :) And service was exceptional. Restaurant also has a cool atmosphere and vibe.

Awesome food and friendliest service! I can tell that a lot of thought went into the menu & the ambience of the restaurant. The interior (warm and inviting) is worthy of a sit down meal or drink at the bar just to admire the multi levels of dining & art! A beautiful landmark!

Delicious. Some good items for vegetarian as well.

The place is big, it looks nice and it's in a great location. We had a gyro plate and kebab (ground beef) which weren't bad but not the best I had either. We also found the price quite highe for lunch but the portions were generous and the pita bread was good too.All in all I don't think I'll be going back, just an average place.

Visit San Diego often for business. Was looking for a new place to eat. Meze exceeded my expectations. The host was very nice and the service inside was equally fantastic. I had the gyro wrap for lunch and it was amazing. Many other menu items sound great too. Looking forward to my next visit.

Decent service and food in the gas lamp district. We went for lunch and the place was half empty and kind of sad. Our waiter wasn't the fastest or nicest. I'd use this place just for emergencies

Cream of mushroom soup, moussaka, Jalapeno hummus and Greek Honey beer were delicious.

Great Greek food. Good selection of food. The streak I had was very good and the other grilled meats also.

Friendly staff, great food, and an exciting atmosphere. Gets busy at night so make sure you get there early or make a reservation. You will not be disappointed.

I love the ambiance of this place. I loved the way they cooked the eggplant this reminds me of home. The walnut shrimp is the bomb super delicious it complimented with the eggplant and we also tried the Mongolian beef, the beef is so tender. We're so happy that we chose this place because we're all satisfied with food as well as the service. Highly recommended place!

Attracted to this place first just by looking at the outside! Appealing and open, just invites you right in. Once inside, you can see all the little details in the ornamentation and it truly adds a little extra to the experience. Service was very nice and helpful, we were seated immediately and drink orders taken very fast. Food was also delivered quite quickly and we all receive our food in a timely manner which is impressive since we had a group of 7. Everything we ordered was delicious and some were recommendations from the server which were fabulous. Great experience here!

Excellent food, excellent service. We only waited maybe 20 minutes or so. The absolute only problem our table had was not being able to order all the things we wanted to try. No one was disappointed with their food. I had the fiery feta Mac'N'Cheese and the Watermelon Feta Salad and it was delicious. Textures, flavors, all of it was wonderful. Can't wait to bring more people back!

The waiter was awesome . The food is so rich and juicy. It's really like having a world of different taste in your mouth. If anyone loves Greek food, then You'll want to marry this Greek Fusion Food. I even had my food to go. 10 min ride home food was still warm and delicious. Going back again real soon but I am going to sit down for the atmosphere drinks with food. TOP NOTCH PLACE 👌

If you love Greek food, this is the place for you! Everything was on point from the jalapeno cilantro hummus appetizer to the baklava cheesecake dessert. Greek kabob with filet mignon was GREAT as main entree. It was cooked to perfection. The house lager beer was crisp and refreshing. The waitress (Effie) did a great job making sure our food was up to expectation and drinks topped off every time she checked at our table. If I'm ever in the San Diego area again I'm going back to dine again. Top notch experience when it comes to Greek cuisine!

The food and ambiance were great! We had the firey feta dip, gyro plate, and the steak kabob - all of which were delicious. The service was a little slow but everyone was friendly! We will be coming back to try more of the meze plates!

This place was awesome. Interior was beautiful. Seating section was beautiful. Great food menu. Everything came of Kitchen wad fresh and flavorful.

My family decided to have dinner with this restaurant. The ambiance was great, and the service staff was too friendly and attentive. Eventually, we have quality time together with your restaurant because the foods taste good and the place was very good to visit. It has clean and tidy surroundings. All in all, we have a great day spending with your restaurant!

Pretty good food. Three of us each ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their meals. Fast service and outside seating makes for a great experience on a nice sunny afternoon.

Went here for lunch. We ordered several Meze plates to share and were not disappointed. The saganaki was delicious and they set it on for table side which was fun. The meatballs are also good. The Greek tacos were amazing, particularly the lamb. The hot sauce on the table was really really good, and I would recommend trying it with the meatballs. Our server Tiffany was awesome and the service was very quick. She had a ton of tables but was super attentive. I would definitely return here and if I lived in the area this would be a regular place I would visit.

$18 Burger.... that's actually worth the money. It's made with a beef and lamb burger patty and so many other item like fiery feta that make it so good and unique. It comes with garlic fries or a salad. Wish my fries were more well done (so ask for that if it's a thing for you too)

Absolutely delicious! Great flavor of food and crafted drinks. Service was great, environment is cool and it's in a great part of downtown.

I like coming here for their brunch because they do unlimited mimosas and Bloody Mary. But the BM you can drink so much. It’s the mimosas that is good. We also got some brunch items. I got the lamb hash and it was good. Their regular items are good too especially the gyro plate. Their shrimp salad was delicious too. We came on Saturday so it wasn’t packed.

Contemporary Greek restaurant. Only there for a quick business lunch. The gyro was very tasty and prices were reasonable.

Amazing food and ambience! Definitely one of the best restaurants in Gas Lamp Quarter.

This place is fantastic. The food was all mouthwatering good, I want more but am too full to eat another bite. Excellent hummus and dolmas and tzatziki. The agvolemono was just... yum. Chris is the best server, btw. EAT HERE NOW.

My first time at Meze and it did not disappoint. We ordered a total of eight or nine dishes and all of them were excellent. Even the basic grilled cheese with fresh tomato basil soup was rich and delicious. I ordered the lamb shank it was flavorful and very tender. The shrimp appetizer was set on fire, which is a nice show. Would definitely come again!

Amazing upscale Greek restaurant with delicious food. They serve cheese on fire as an appetizer with pita bread. Menu has a lot of variety for entrees with lots of cocktails and wine. I enjoyed lamb with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. The garlic mashed potatoes are aaaaahhhmazing! Cool vibe inside with music and the restaurant is modern and romantic (if wanted).

Hip place and atmosphere with very good Greek food. Had great service as well. Only problem is finding free or inexpensive parking in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Very hip and fun environment. Service was prompt, friendly and professional. Menu is well organized and creative. The kitchen and management know what they're doing.Definitely will be back.

Food was good. Service was great for a busy weekend. The price discrepancy is unacceptable. 2$ is not a lot on my bill. There was a table of 12 next to me that ordered the same dish. I feel bad for them. Please keep an eye out.

My husband and I stayed at a hotel across Meze. We would walk past Meze everyday and thought it looked interesting. On our last night, we were exhausted from the Zoo. We didn't want to travel far for dinner. We thought we'd give Meze a shot. We walked to Meze with no expectation whatsoever. For someone who does extensive research before trying anything new. I was surprised to my very core at how amazing this place was. The place was cozy, yet spacious. It was fancy, yet casual. Finally, to the best part, the fooooooood. We started off the Feta mac n cheese. It melted in our mouth. We then Greek tacos. Over all the food was delicious

Decent atmosphere, although a bit noisy. I had the meze kebab, which was properly cooked but the seasoning was bland. I could only taste the mixture of lamb and beef but no herbs of any kind. The vegetables were very disappointing as it was that cheap mixture of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, precut and most likely frozen that you find in every diners around the country. more grilled tomatoes or asparagus and fresh grilled onions would have been much tastier if you call yourself a higher end restaurant. Don’t go cheap on us now!We had the Retsina wine which was marked up by at least a factor of 5. People who read my reviews know how much I hate being taken by wine prices. Won’t go back. Much better alternatives around.

This restaurant is perfect for any occasion! I was really glad that my husband chose to bring me there because it was indeed a better way to celebrate my birthday! The place looked so fancy, romantic and just so perfect. The crew also gave us a really great service, and they were very nice also. The steak that we ordered was served well and tasted so delicious. Thanks to everyone there! I really enjoyed my birthday treat because of you, guys!
